PoMo Aviator 2.0

Giniferous Gin, Subrosa Liqueur

The PoMo Aviator 2.0 is an updated riff on the Aviation Cocktail. The Aviation Cocktail first appeared in the cocktail book “Recipes for Mixed Drinks” in 1916. This traditional gin-based cocktail typically features Crème de Violette liqueur which all but disappeared from the US market in the 1960s and thus caused this cocktail to be almost completely forgotten. In this updated-for-summer version, we feature PostModern Spirits’ Subrosa Liqueur, a floral botanical distillation that is steeped with hibiscus flowers, and the citrus-forward Giniferous Gin. The 2.0 version has been re-imagined as a Long Drink for the summer-time heat and humidity. This easy sipper should be in everyone’s repertoire for summer cocktails.

Glass:

Collins

Ingredients:

Giniferous Gin 1.5 ounce
Subrosa Liqueur .75 ounce
Grenadine 0.75 ounce
Lime Juice 0.75 ounce

Garnish:

Dehydrated Lemon

Method:

Shake with ice and strain into an ice filled Collins glass.

Tasting Notes:

Tart lime with floral attributes
