Our precision-crafted spirits with flavor derived from natural botanicals, grains, and fruits are all produced on-site at our 4,700sqft Old City location in Knoxville, Tennessee. Whether it’s one of our unique gins or a carefully-crafted, but forgotten Italian liqueur that we feel needs a revival, we want you to remember the passion and hard work that goes into mindfully crafted spirits.

(UP)ROOT GIN

Offering a compelling new spin for winter. Juniper, Coriander, Szechuan Peppercorn, Angelica, Cardamom, Rose Hips, Galangal, and Orris Root, are first distilled in small 100-gallon batches. Following distillation, (Up)Root is rested in oak barrels for a short period of time to allow the botanicals to come together into a cold weather gin with warm and complex root botanical flavors. 

2 oz PostModern (Up)Root Gin
½ oz PostModern Chamomile Liqueur
2 dashes Angostura Bitters

Add all ingredients to mixing glass with ice. Stir to chill and strain into a glass over large ice cube. Garnish.

2 oz PostModern (Up)Root Gin
¾ oz ginger simple syrup
¾ oz lemon juice

Shake over ice and strain into martini glass. Garnish with lemon twist.

1 oz PostModern (Up)Root Gin
1 oz PostModern Amaro Arancia
1 oz Sweet Red Vermouth

Stir with ice and strain into coupe glass. Garnish with orange twist.

AMARO ARANCIA

For each batch of Amaro Arancia Bitter Orange Liqueur, the fresh zest of Valencia Oranges are combined with other quality botanicals like gentian root, licorice root, and cardamom. These botanicals are allowed to gently age in the spirit to ensure the natural ingredients stand out before being sweetened slightly so as not to lose the bitter qualities so desired in today’s cocktails. Upon opening Amaro Arancia, you will be greeted with a complex orange nose from the fresh natural zest used. Amaro Arancia slips easily into classic cocktails in place of aperitivo like aperol, campari or other traditional ingredients giving cocktails a delightful twist. In intricate cocktails, Amaro Arancia helps round out flavors by giving the drink body and brilliant flavor. Try sipping alone before dinner with cheese and charcuterie or finishing the evening accompanied by a bitter chocolate.

2 oz Prosecco
1 oz Club Soda
2 oz PostModern Amaro Arancia
1 large green olive

Fill rocks glass with ice. Add sparkling wine, club soda, and Amaro Arancia. Stir gently. Garnish with olives.

1 cup sugar
¼ cup fresh juice from about 8 limes
¼ cup water
1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt

For One Cocktail:

2 ounces blanco tequila, such as Chinaco
1 ounce Salted Grapefruit Cordial
¾ ounce fresh lime juice
¼ ounce PostModern Amaro Arancia

Club Soda

For the Salted Grapefruit Cordial: Bury grapefruit peel in sugar in a pint-sized container. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours. The next day, add grapefruit juice, 1/4 cup lime juice, water, and salt to sugar and stir or shake until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove grapefruit peel and refrigerate cordial, which will last for several weeks.

For the Cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, 1 ounce of cordial, 3/4 ounce of lime juice, and Amaro Arancia. Fill shaker with ice, and shake until well chilled, about 15 seconds. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice and top with soda to taste. Garnish with a grapefruit twist if desired.

1 oz PostModern Amaro Arancia
1 oz Sweet Vermouth

Stir with ice and strain into coupe glass. Garnish with orange twist.

CACAO LIQUEUR

PostModern Cacao Liqueur is a crystal clear chocolaty spirit in a palate pleasing 50-proof formulation. Distilled in small batches using single source cacao nibs from Fiji, PostModern Cacao Liqueur presents with a deep chocolate aroma and flavor that will make it a perfect holiday gift item. Whether sipped alone, over ice, as a nightcap, mixed into favorite cocktails like a Chocolate Martini or Twentieth Century, or incorporated into baked goods, PostModern Cacao Liqueur is a luxurious highlight to holiday feasts and gatherings.

1 ½  oz PostModern Empirical Dry Gin
1 ½ oz PostModern Cacao Liqueur
½ oz Lillet Blanc
¾ oz Lemon Juice

Add ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake well for 10 seconds and strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with cocktail cherry.

1 ½ oz PostModern Cacao Liqueur
¾ oz PostModern Empirical Kore Vodka

Shake ingredients together with ice. Strain into chilled martini glass and serve.

1 ½ oz PostModern Kore Vodka
1 ½ oz PostModern Cacao Liqueur
Quality heavy cream

Add vodka and liqueur to ice-filled Old Fashioned glass. Top with heavy cream. If desired, garnish with dusting of cocoa powder or cinnamon.

EMPIRICAL DRY GIN

This is the bartender’s friend. A big juniper note envelopes the palate from the first impression of the aroma straight through the long, clean dry finish. Accented by 8 botanicals, including rose hips, grapefruit peel, and orris root, Empirical Dry Gin sits comfortably in your favorite cocktail. 

*“Navy strength” Gin was given its name because gin at 114-proof (57% ABV) is a high enough alcohol content that if it were to be spilled on gun powder, the gun powder would still ignite!

 

1.5 oz PostModern Empirical Dry Gin
½ oz Yellow Chartreuse
½ oz PostModern Chamomile Liqueur
¾ oz Lime Juice
½ oz Agave Nectar
1 dash fernet branca

Add dash of fernet to coupe glass. Swirl and pour excess fernet. Shake other ingredients with ice and strain coupe. Garnish with lime.

½ oz PostModern Kore Vodka
1 ¾ oz PostModern Empirical Dry Gin
1 ½ oz orange juice
½ oz PostModern Chamomile Liqueur

Stir all ingredients with ice for one minute. Strain into chilled glass and serve.

1 oz PostModern Empirical Dry Gin
1 oz Aperol
1 oz Cynar

Stir with ice and strain into coupe glass. Garnish with orange or grapefruit twist.

GINIFEROUS GIN

Giniferous Gin is a delicious and approachable gin accented with fresh citrus zest as well as citra hops that fans of craft beer will be familiar. The bouquet of additional botanicals including juniper, coriander, fresh citrus, and lavender come together in this light, fresh gin that sits as comfortably with a splash of soda as it does in a French 75.

2 ½ oz PostModern Giniferous Gin
1 oz Maraschino
¼ oz PostModern Elderberry Gin Liqueur
1 dash bitters

In cocktail pitcher with ice, stir together all ingredients. Strain into coupe glass and garnish with a lemon twist.

2 oz PostModern Giniferous Gin
1 oz Dry Vermouth
½ oz PostModern Chamomile Liqueur
1 dash bitters

In an ice-filled cocktail pitcher, combine all ingredients and stir for 1 minute. Strain into coupe and garnish with lemon wedge.

2 oz PostModern Giniferous Gin
1 tablespoon honey
½ lemon

Combine ingredients in cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into coupe glass.

KORE VODKA

KORE Vodka, distilled from corn, is a naturally gluten-free semi-premium vodka option. Our 5x filtration process results in a velvety vodka so smooth, it can be enjoyed on it’s own and sit comfortably in even your most adventurous cocktail creations.

½ lime
2 oz PostModern Kore Vodka
Ginger Beer

Squeeze lime into copper mug (or glass) filled with ice + add vodka + top with ginger beer

1 ¾ oz KORE Vodka
3 ½  oz Orange juice
Mix in a highball glass with ice. Garnish with lime and serve.

An Ice Pick Variant
1 ½ oz Kore Vodka
3 oz Kombucha
½ oz Strawberry Cordial*
Lemon wedge

In an ice filled shaker, combine all ingredients including juice from lemon wedge. Shake vigorously to chill. Pour into collins glass and serve with basil leaf

* Strawberry Cordial: Bring 1 cup of sugar and ½ cup of water to a boil to dissolve sugar. Remove from stove. Mash 2 cups of fresh or frozen strawberries and mix into warm simple syrup along with 1 – 2 basil leaves. Allow to cool to room temperature and strain.

ELDERBERRY GIN LIQUEUR

With a base of citrusy gin, PostModern Spirits’ Elderberry Gin Liqueur is a delightful cocktail enhancer. Just the right amount of tartness from the rich, tangy elderberries is balanced by the addition of sweetener. The end result is a perfect compliment to sparkling wine or cocktails featuring gin, vodka, or even rum. Try it over ice with club soda and a squeeze of lemon.

2 ½  oz PostModern Empirical Dry Gin
¾ oz fresh lemon juice
¼ oz PostModern Elderberry Gin Liqueur
½ oz PostModern Chamomile Liqueur

Shake in an iced cocktail shaker and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon twist.

2 ½ oz PostModern Giniferous Gin
1 oz Maraschino
¼ oz PostModern Elderberry Gin Liqueur
1 dash bitters

In cocktail pitcher with ice, stir together all ingredients. Strain into coupe glass and garnish with a lemon twist.

Top a flute of sparkling wine with ½ oz PostModern Elderberry Liqueur and maraschino cherry.

CHAMOMILE LIQUEUR

This mild, slightly sweet liqueur reminds one of a relaxing cup of herbal tea. We’ve accented the chamomile with dried apricots and a slight floral note from elderflowers making it both sipable as well as a perfect nuance to a craft cocktail.

2 oz PostModern Giniferous Gin
1 oz White Wine
½ oz PostModern Chamomile Liqueur
1 dash orange  bitters

Stir well with cracked ice + Strain into coupe glass to serve.

2 oz PostModern Empirical Dry Gin
¼ oz Orange Liqueur
¾ oz orange Juice
1 dash sugar or simple syrup
¼ oz PostModern Chamomile Liqueur
Thyme sprig

Shake gin, liqueurs, orange juice, simple syrup in ice filled cocktail shaker. Pour into collins glass, garnish with thyme sprig.

1 oz PostModern Empirical Dry Gin 1 oz Aperol 1 oz Cynar Stir with ice and strain into coupe glass. Garnish with orange or grapefruit twist.
