“Grains & Grits is a wonderful celebration of the Tennessee distilling industry in the beautiful mountain setting of Townsend. And even more exciting for us is that this is PostModern Spirits’ first year at the event! Guests will be able to sample craft cocktails made from our products along with spirit tastings of our original five spirits launched in August (Giniferous Gin, Empirical Dry Gin, Kore Vodka, Chamomile Liqueur, and Elderberry Gin Liqueur) plus our newest offerings which launch in November: a luscious Cacao Liqueur, Bitter Orange Amaro Arancia, and our fall gin offering UpRoot Barrel Aged Gin,” McNew said.
Just in time for the holidays, PostModern Spirits in Knoxville’s Old City is releasing three new spirits. Joining the original 5-spirit family is a Cacao Liqueur with single-source cacao nibs, Bitter Orange Amaro Arancia made with fresh orange zest, and (Up)Root Barrel Rested Gin with Juniper, Coriander, Szechuan Peppercorn, Angelica, Cardamom, Rose Hips, Galangal, and Orris Root.

“Webster, who will do some sales and the co-operations manager honors along with Eric McNew.
Webster’s the kind of guy who can say “we took a lot of time really honing the business plan to make sure we can get started legitimately and functionally” in one breath, and marvel at mezcal with the next.””
Remember when Knoxville only had a brewery here and there? I know, it’s hard. With the proliferation of breweries came questions about our capacity to support so many. And then we did. An innovative, locally owned new distillery is set to open in Knoxville’s Old City district. Post Modern Distilling is a new company specializing in spirits for the modern consumer. Crafting authentic yet edgy spirits for both experienced drinkers as well as those new to the spirits market will be the focus of Post Modern Distilling. Located at 205 West Jackson Avenue in the historic Jackson Terminal,
“Stanton Webster and Eric McNew are excited to announce the creation of Post Modern Distilling Company, a new venture for the men who have dipped their toes in the spirits business before.
Webster is former manager/founding partner in Knox Whiskey Works. McNew also worked there for a time and is well known in Knoxville’s culinary scene for his marketing and social media business (www.EricMcNew.com), and his partnership with wife, Mandee, in the Knoxfoodie blog. There are three silent investors helping to back this new company.
