Hocus Pocus

UpRoot Gin

A funky, fall cocktail based on the Golden Shrub, a drinking vinegar made from carrot juice, ginger and turmeric. The backbone of this tart cocktail comes from the barrel aged UpRoot Gin and is enhanced by fresh lime juice and the Golden Shrub.


Cocktail Coupe


Uproot Gin 2 ounce
Golden Shrub* 1 ounce
Chai Syrup** 1 ounce
Lime Juice 1 ounce


Dehydrated Lemon


Shake all ingredients with ice. Double Strain into a cocktail coupe & garnish.

*Golden Shrub: 2 Cup Carrot Juice, 1 ¼ Cup Vinegar, 2/3 Cup Sugar, ¼ Cup Honey, ½ ounce dried Turmeric, 100 grams grated ginger. Combine over medium heat for 15 minutes. Strain & reserve liquid for use.

**Chai Syrup: 1 Cup Water, 1 Cup Sugar, 2 Chai tea bags. Melt sugar in water and steep tea for 10 minutes. Discard tea bags and reserve liquid for use.
