Hi Rye Whiskey

As George Bernard Shaw once said, “Whiskey is liquid sunshine.” The Benedict Cumberbatch is our seasonal proof that the sun is always shining when we have Rye Whiskey! Built on the high malted barley content Hi, Rye Whiskey from PostModern Spirits, the Benedict Cumberbatch is a complex, sipping cocktail with notes of root beer, licorice, rosemary and loads of spice.

Glass:

Rocks

Ingredients:

Hi, Rye Whiskey 2 ounce
Horehound Syrup* 0.75 ounce
Rosemary Syrup** 0.5 ounce
Walnut Bitters 3 dash

Garnish:

Anise & Dried Orange

Method:

Stir with ice and Strain over big rock. Garnish with Anise & dried orange.

* Rosemary Syrup – Heat 1 cup water with 1 cup sugar & 0.5 cup rosemary dried until boil. Steep for 10 minutes and then strain solids. Retain liquid.

**Horehound Syrup – Heat 1 cup water with 1 cup sugar and 1 cup horehound until boil. Steep for 10 minutes and then strain solids while retaining liquid.

Tasting Notes:

Slightly bitter with root beer, licorice, and rosemary
