Algonquin

Hi Rye Whiskey

Named for the New York Hotel, the Algonquin was a much derided cocktail. This updated version is a delightful blend of PostModern Spirits Hi, Rye Whiskey, the sweeter Bianco Vermouth, pineapple juice and a simple honey syrup. The result is a slightly more elegant and palatable cocktail than the original!

Glass:

Nick & Nora

Ingredients:

1.5 ounce PostModern Spirits Hi, Rye Whiskey
0.75 ounce Blanc/Bianco Vermouth
0.75 ounce Pineapple Juice
0.25 ounce Honey Syrup*

Garnish:

Lemon Twist

Method:

Stir all ingredients with ice until well chilled and diluted. Strain into chilled Nick & Nora and garnish.

*Honey syrup – dilute 1 cup honey in 1 cup warm water

Tasting Notes:

Spice from the rye mellows with pineapple and honey
